about
Deep & Ben Boogie were resident DJs at New York City’s legendary NUYORICAN POETRY CLUB. They have traveled around the states with Artists LIFE LONG & FRESH DAILY. The 2 producers, raised in New York City’s (pre-gentrified) L.E.S., call themselves the 2 Hungry Bros. They have been friends since the 1st grade. They’ve produced break through hits for artists Lodeck, Many Styles, Homeboy Sandman, L.I.F.E. Long & Fresh Daily.
They have also worked with known Hip Hop Artists Substantial, Hangar 18, Reef the Lost Cauze, Tanya Morgan, Breez Evahflowin, U.G. (Cella Dwellas), Mr. Sinister, Mickey Factz and many more.
Deep has performed with the 2 Hungry Bros’ respective artists at such events like City Sol ’08, Rocksteady ’08, Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival ’08 & ’09, Scribble Jam ’07 and their music has been performed by artists in the continuing years. Deep has shared the stage with Das Efx, Jeru the Damaja, Heiroglyphics, Rakim, the Roots, Boot Camp Click, Brand Nubian, Chip Fu, Immortal Technique, Louis Logic, J-Live, Aesop Rock, Slug of Atmosphere, and many more.
“If Deep hasn’t spun at your east coast party, then he’s produced a track for one of your favorite independent artists… A notorious doctor of sampling, Deep – along with his fellow Hungry Brother Ben Boogz- can surprise masses with rare flamenco samples or even a video game loop. The New York native’s beats are completely unpredictable, much like the night of your deflowering.” … Kathy Iandoli for Skope May-June 2007
“Most of ya’ll know that the 2 Hungry Bros have got that heat when it comes to the beats. It’s only a matter of time before their payday comes.” Thug E. Fresh to Def Interboro Rock Tribune summer’06

8thW1
If one were to visit the small isolated town of Browns Mills, New Jersey, they would never suspect this is home to one of the music's most promising talents. But it is here, where 8thW1 began his journey as an emcee. With vision far beyond that of his peers (no pun intended) and skills to match, he may very well be the next spokesman for a generation waiting to be spoken for.
Since releasing his debut album, "lovemoneyandmusic", 8thW1 has set out to prove himself not only as a solid lyricist but as an artist who can stand the test of time. He has recorded songs with noted producers like IllMind and has displayed exceptional performances on such stages as S.O.B.'s, Crash Mansion, the legendary Knitting Factory and more. His reputation has garnered the attention of underground tastemakers like DJ Eclipse, Peter Rosenberg and Sucio Smash, to name a few.
To many, "lovemoneyandmusic" may appear to be only an album, but for 8th, it is the introduction of his business venture lovemoneyandmusic, LLC. Though, he is clearly an independent thinker, he understands the importance of playing his position for the greater good as seen by his affiliations with New York City's premier underground hip-hop group A-OK Collective and his own band, Lux DeVille.
Whether you are listening to his effortless wordplay or enjoying his passionate performance, it is clear to see 8th sets himself apart in a way that most artists, for whatever reason don't he doesn't try. His talent and energy speaks for themselves. While many have been known to hide behind promotion and marketing schemes, 8thW1 chooses an honest, less is more approach from the booth to the stage to the packaging of his music. In an era where claims of greatness are tossed around daily, 8th simply asks for you to press play; a true sign of confidence that only an artist of his caliber can possess.
